Well if schumacher can lap everyone but his teammate in a race with strict rules imagine how much performance difference they would gain with more room to innovate. the less we see of a driver winning because he's cars a quantum leap above others (which some would say about jacque villeneuve's career) the better, atleast now race stratagies can make up for performance differences.

btw did anyone see the 2.4litre v8 cosworth engine redbull and williams (if i remember correctly) should be using next year 20,002rpm
some teams might be using rev limited 3litre v10's because they cant afford to develope a v8, ofcourse if the v10 still proves quicker the teams will be using them instead. FIA seems to have already lost the plot on trying to cut costs :P

I ment within the confines of the rules the teams have worked to extract maximium effiency in incredible details. If they did away with such strict rules you wouldnt be seeing such beautiful minute refinements that add so little but together can be the difference between winning a race or being out of the points which makes it such a great team sport.

Quote from Batterypark :Off topic, but you people seem very inconsistent in spelling "consistency"

copy+paste FTW!

Line: 4
Consitancy: 7
Racecraft: 9

Overall: 6.666

at best i'd say thats true of consistancy and maybe a bit more for line depending on experience with a car/track :P

that a home built single seater?......see now thats what f1 would look like if there wasent design restrictions, everyone sincerely repeat after me "THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH MR MOSELY!"

at high speed i'd say it will be just like a normal wing failure (maybe a bit less dramatic)
at low speed they could limp back to the pits as usual

i'm sure the dual wings will be pretty pointless to replace as the single ones where before and will be next year. from what i've seen they are attached to the chassis and the new ones will be aswell.

Live For Speed: Racing the way it's ment to be

Get in the pits and Live For Speed

kinda corny though

ive always loved the look of F1 cars since they are pure funtion. doubt they will look exactly like that though, running that in real life and you'd have 2 flat tires on the rear since the wings are only supported on the inside :P

this years unvailing was fantastic seeing how the teams dealth with the lose of downforce and it looks like next year and 2007 will be even more interesting.

btw the rear wing was accepted by the teams so it will be 2007 instead of 2008

I say its great, love seeing how the teams handle the restrictions the FIA put on them and how long it takes for them to gain back the lost speed....real problem is the teams getting different ammounts of money to spend, should all get the same and see which is more efficient in how they use it.

looking at that graph i wonder if the speed they catch up on the straights from drafting will be gone since they should have more downforce following. ofcourse that might just mean every race the fastest cars are shuffled to the front and the slowers behind.

i'm getting the same but havent tryed to reinstall yet. only thing ive done differently is i joined a private server yesterday for the first time, i did remove the server and password from "join specific server" screen but that didnt do anything so ill try to reinstall now

btw trying to get it to stop checking hosts it will just lock so you cant join or exit (without ctrl+alt+del) heres a screenshot of it

scrappy like flatspotting your tire and going out on the last lap? Alonso was much cleaner the whole season, he only did as much as he had to and avoided alot of trouble, thats the smart driving that makes him stand out above others.

Kimi has adjusted the car to put in a fastest lap right at the end a few times its nothing extrodinary, any driver can do that so being he does it in the fastest car and gets the fastest lap isent a surprise.... low fuel + higher rev's + expensive fuel mixture = duh and minus the risk of having to push the car to its limits of grip but still get the fastest time. winning in a slower car is much more impressive then being fastest in the fastest car.

Alonso has shown he can do it all this season and if 1 lap determines who is better to you the poles and fastest laps from Alonso in a slower car mean so much more.

when was the last time kimi ever come in danger from a faster car behind? Alonso sure dealt with it all and only put a foot wrong once in montreal.

I'd say for F1 these days he is perfectly suited to it and the only compitition he'll encounter in the future is from drivers in much faster cars (altough MS with the 2 second a lap advantage in imola didnt have much luck )
All i've seen from kimi is getting fastest laps in the fastest car...i'd understand peoples fascination with him if that was the only factor in F1

Renault winning the constructors is deserved i'd say. performance and reliability in perfect combinination thats how you win championships. maybe if mclaren concintrated more on reliability the performance would have been impressive. mclarens doing a bit of a williams with their competative peaks and dips, 50/50 chance they will be competative next year unlike renaults consistant gains making them my favourite for next year (see how winter testing goes before i'd bet on anything though)

sounds like people want to be playing gran turismo instead. clio cup style would be good, they bounch those 2litre beasts around the track all the time, looks like a great laugh and close racing. maybe a kind of vintage class with e-type jag's and possibly v8 vantage style but those old style v8's would be more frustrating then fun when trying to get around a track.....proberly have to go up to R50's to keep the tires blowing out on 1 lap with all the weight and torque :P

well i guess a nordschleife type track is gonna have to be done, alot of us are hoping for it

i'd like to see more kyoto gp long style tracks only with much shorter straights (long enough for safe overtaking moves though) and no banks so we dont have to sacrifice downforce and struggle through cornors for the rest of the lap....basically more from the blgp/westhill style would feed my fo8 fetish nicely

and anything else i missed that RacingSimFan said, he knows whats needed.
